Then he went down to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, and on the Sabbath began to teach the people. They were amazed at his teaching, because his message had authority.
The Teacher is an incredible Person. But His message amazes also. The credibility and truth of His teaching!
Jesus did many miracles that day. Of course He cares deeply for hurting people. But His works of mercy also give credence to His message.
Today, we are still amazed by the power and beauty of Jesus the Person. The power of His resurrection! The love and mercy of His personality! He is the greatest Person who ever lived!All the people were amazed and said to each other, "What is this teaching? With authority and power he gives orders to evil spirits and they come out!
But it is His message from heaven that resonates in our hearts. Strikes a chord deep in our souls that vibrates in tune with the truths of God!
Jesus as Teacher speaks to us where we are. Lifting us to heights of spiritual insight and understanding about ourselves and our place in God’s plan! Only the Teacher can do this.
That’s why we want to be His students too.
Fortunately, teaching is still His business. Not only what He came to do nearly 2,000 years ago! Today, He continues as the Teacher and we His avid students.
"I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent." And he kept on preaching in the synagogues of Judea.
