IN, YET OUT

Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.

Here the Teacher emphasizes how different is the life of His students from others in the world. Their life is sanctified. Separated for the purposes of God!

He uses such phrases as: out of the world, and they are not of the world any more than I am of the world, and again, they are not of the world for I am not of the world.

Students of Jesus are in the world, yet out of it!

The Teacher reveals the source of the separated/sanctified life. It is a way of living created through knowledge of the Truth of God. The very teaching Jesus brought into the world.

In, yet out! He’s sending His students into the world, yet their lives will reflect the principles of God’s Truth, not the values of the world.

As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.

Just as God sent Jesus, today Jesus sends His students. Separated to live as He lived.

This is what being a student of Jesus is all about. Becoming more like the Teacher! Living by out of this world principles.

Being a sanctified follower of Jesus naturally leads to a growing sense of disconnection and release from the standards by which the rest of the world lives.

Detachment from the values of the world is what happens as a student learns and applies the truth of Jesus’ life in greater measure.

Sanctification is preparation for the inevitable departure from this world. For living in heaven! A place where living according to God’s Truth is no longer the best way; it will be the only way!

I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you.
